Can I place this on my resume?
Yes! All students who complete the certificate are encouraged to list this on the professional and educational development section of their resumes.
What is the cost?
Each 3-credit certificate track course costs $199. A standard non-certificate track with no examination or TA access is also available for each course.
What are the testing expectations?
Students will be expected to complete the following testing during each course: 1. A multiple choice midterm exam with a passing grade, completed no later than 10 days after it is made available 2. A multiple choice final exam with a passing grade no later than 10 days after it is made available.
Are there refunds for course tuition?
Students will have until the end of the first week to request a withdrawal and refund from any course.
What are the expected goals and outcomes?
The Muslim Legacy Certificate in History may be especially beneficial to those wishing to engage the rich, vast, and diverse legacy and history of Islam and Muslim Civilization. Our intent is to: expose students to our distinguished and world class instructors, provide students with countless opportunities to engage with others who are passionate to learn more about important social and cultural issues through history, religion, philosophy, art, and literature, and prepare students for the demands of life by enriching their understanding of a broad array of social, cultural, and civilizational issues while improving their ability to analyze and study history from a traditional Muslim perspective.
Can I take a certificate track course after the live dates?
Certificate track students may attend and watch class via the recordings. However, exams must be taken within the time frame allowed for each class. Information regarding this will be made available via a syllabus on the first day of class.
