About the Muslim Legacy Islamic History Certificate

The Muslim Legacy Islamic History Certificate is a multi-year for-credit syllabus that will provide an authentic and comprehensive introduction to our history from the dawn of Islam to the modern age. Our courses will survey Muslim and Islamic religious, cultural, historical, intellectual, political, and artistic history across five continents, and are designed to provide a high-level understanding of our civilizational impact on human society over the past 1400 years.

To obtain a certificate, students will be required to complete 21 credits of core courses, plus 6 credits of courses on special topics.

Core courses will include:
